Celebrating European Supply Chain Day: Developing logistics capabilities in Wales
Description
Speakers: Sali Williams, Aldi, and others to be confirmed
The logistics industry performs an essential role within the Welsh economy, both supporting manufacturing and retail operations whilst also employing significant numbers of personnel. To mark European Supply Chain Day, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and Cardiff Business School have come together to organise a Breakfast Briefing event which will discuss the opportunities for the industry within Wales and highlight some of the excellent practices of firms operating in Wales. Amongst the speakers planned, Sali Williams, Aldi’s Director of Logistics, will be discussing their supply chain operations, why they were keen to set up a distribution centre in South Wales and the new technological developments that their facility will offer when it opens in 2017. There will also be an expert panel discussion, giving you the chance to ask questions about issues that are a current cause or concern. Time will be available for networking over coffee and croissants.
