Companies make a stand for logistics – about 100 events on 'Supply Chain Day'

07.04.2025

Supply Chain Day is fuelled by the commitment of numerous companies who offer free insights into their services and tasks on this day. Interested parties can choose from around 100 events. Amazon is also one of the supporters of Supply Chain Day and will once again be a premium partner in 2025. The e-commerce retailer has been involved in the day of action since 2022 and also contributes to the promotion of the economic sector.

When Germany's third-largest economic sector opens its doors on April 10th, 2025 – ‘Suppy Chain Day’ – interested parties will once again be able to experience live the importance of logistics for a functioning everyday life. Around 100 events, from guided tours and webinars to a logistics escape room, are already on offer. In addition to providing financial support, the partner companies of the pan-European day of action are also committed to making logistics more visible to the public and promoting an understanding of its diverse tasks and opportunities. In this way, the companies are committed both to the day of action and to the economic sector as a whole. In return, they benefit from a comprehensive presence in the public channels of Supply Chain Day, the opportunity to play an active role in organising the event and support in promoting the event – supplemented by additional, individual communication benefits on request.

E-commerce retailer gets involved again

Amazon is a premium partner of Supply Chain Day for the fourth time in a row; the company has been participating in the day of action programme with events since 2010. This year, Amazon is once again opening the doors of various locations and providing exciting insights at numerous logistics and distribution centres. Interested parties will have the opportunity to experience the diversity of logistics professions at first hand and find out about attractive entry-level opportunities and further training programmes.

"The logistics sector is a driver of innovation with great potential for the future, where people and technology interact perfectly. At Amazon, we experience this every day – from the storage of goods with intelligent robot systems to the efficient transport of parcels to their destinations and optimised delivery over the last mile. We are delighted to be a partner of Supply Chain Day again this year. With our nationwide campaigns, we want to show what fascinating prospects the combination of state-of-the-art technology and hands-on mentality offers, especially for career starters," says Markus Meel, Regional Director Amazon Transportation Service in the German Amazon logistics network.

The partner programme supports Supply Chain Day as a non-profit campaign. Companies can register as organisers free of charge at www.tag-der-logistik.de and publish their events. Initiatives and associations that would like to support the day of action with their network can become involved as ideational partners. In line with the non-profit framework, participation in the events is also free of charge. The organisers are free to organise their own events.

Press talk on Supply Chain Day

An online press talk will also take place on the day before Supply Chain Day. The expert talk will focus on the stability of supply chains and their key role in supplying the economy and society – including strategic approaches to increasing resilience. The results of a survey on the supply chain strategy of German companies conducted by the ifo Institute on behalf of the EU Commission in March 2025 will be presented for the first time in a public setting. They show how these companies are reacting to supply chain changes. The discussion will also include assessments of the current development of the economic sector from the most recent meeting of the ‘Logistikweisen’, a high-calibre panel of logistics experts.

Career orientation day organised by the ‘Die Wirtschaftsmacher’ initiative

Even after Supply Chain Day, interested parties can find out about various job profiles in the industry: From June 2nd to 5th, 2025, in Munich, transport logistic, the world's leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management, will offer a comprehensive platform for professionals from all over the world. As part of the career day at transport logistic on June 5th, the initiative ‘Die Wirtschaftsmacher’ – ideational partner of Supply Chain Day – is organising a career orientation day in cooperation with Messe München. The ‘FireCamp’ offers young people practical insights into the diverse career opportunities in the logistics industry and gives them the opportunity to talk directly to company representatives.
